            Claimant, Medical Group Research Associates, Ltd., hereby moves this Honorable Court for permission to late file the enclosed response to the forfeiture complaint. As grounds for this motion, claimant states the following:

            1. When claimant was served with the forfeiture complaint, it had a criminal defense attorney prepare the verified claim, and then immediately began trying to locate experienced forfeiture counsel to handle the forfeiture case, eventually retaining undersigned counsel.

            2. On Monday, May 4, immediately upon being retained, undersigned counsel contacted AUSA Gary Stein and requested until Monday May 11 to file a response to the in rem complaint. Mr. Stein called back on Tuesday May 5 and stated that he consented to the extension of time.

            WHEREFORE, for the foregoing reasons this motion should be granted.
