JFK's Sloop at Auction The 1930 Star Class hull #721 is being offered at auction December 16, 2005. John F. Kennedy owned the Flash II
from 1934 until 1942 and, in 1936, skippered her to line honors (by a
whopping four minutes) in one race of the Atlantic Coast Championships.
In years since, Flash II has been both stored and 90% restored. Guernsey's,
a New York City auction house, will open the bidding (live on eBay;
click the image to view auction listing) promptly at 8 PM, so register
early and bring a fat checkbook. Although used Stars typically sell for
a lot less, the President's is going to set you back at least $100K
(US) - and that's just the opening bid.Wednesday November 16, 2005 | comments (0) Email to a Friend | Submit to Digg Display Latest Headlines | powered by WordPress Sponsored LinksSailing BoatTop 6 Websites For Sailing Boatwww.picks-finder.com |
