Today, in doing my general research browsing on Lexis-Nexis, I found two cases from last year that are really excellent that I didn't know about before. So I decided to start a new feature of FEAR-List, reporting on "Important Forfeiture Decisions" as I find them.   These two cases I just found are almost a year old, but I hadn't come across them before because I haven't happened to troll in those research waters in the past year.  Obviously we could all use bulletins about good new legal precedents, even if it's a year late.
I have started a new directory in the FEAR website to store these decisions as we announce them.  That section is located at http://www.fear.org/opinions/.  The opinions I discuss in the FEAR-List "Important Forfeiture Decisions" series will be archived in that directory.  I already uploaded the two I found today.

I'll send you separate FEAR-List emails regarding the two important decisions I found today.

FEAR-List readers:  Please email me when you come across an important forfeiture decision -- federal or state -- that others might not know about.  We only want fairly recent cases -- after 2000 for federal cases.
