This story just goes to show what happens when police jump to
conclusions based on one suspicious factor -- without looking at other
factors for corroboration. One might ask -- why did the judge give them
the search warrant on such flimsy evidence? Unfortunately, although the
warrant requirement is there to assure that a neutral, disinterested
magistrate or judge reviews the allegations and concludes that there is
probable cause, sometimes apparently they don't bother reading the
affidavit supporting the warrant before signing off on it.
