Here is another letter written to the Eureka City Council from a
concerned citizen.

To Eureka Elected Officials:
I'm writing to oppose your proposed, dangerous, "police state" forfeiture
ordinance which is on your City Council agenda for Tuesday, August 3. My
understanding is that it would make it a misdemeanor to loiter and would
make cars that facilitate that loitering forfeitable. I sometimes travel
through Eureka and enjoy visiting your charming city, but if this becomes
law, I will avoid doing so. I cannot risk having one of your officers
interpret my actions as "loitering" and confiscate my car. We need LESS
government, not more.
