[Modified on 10/9/01 by Leon Felkins]

FEAR-List is e-mail publication of Forfeiture Endangers American Rights Foundation.  It is available free of charge to anyone who wants to subscribe.  To subscribe press here, fill in your e-mail address and press "subscribe".  To unsubscribe, do the same thing, but press "unsubscribe."

We invite subscribers to post messages on FEAR-List, but please observe the following rules:

The message must be about asset forfeiture. We will strictly enforce this rule. Don't use this list to discuss fully informed juries, current events, non-forfeiture drug issues, or any other issue that doesn't have anything to do with forfeiture.

We also forbid chat on this list. If you want to chat with someone who sent out a message on FEAR-List, send your reply to the sender directly, instead of sending it to fear-list@mapinc.org -- that is, unless what you have to say is important enough that everyone would want to hear it.

Here are some examples of the kinds of things we invite you to post on FEAR-List:

(1) summaries of newspaper, magazine or other news articles you find about forfeiture issues, (don't post the entire article if it's copyrighted - just post "fair use" quotations and summarize the rest of the article; and be sure to give the title, author, publication, date and page number of the article);

(2) inquiries or requests for help from forfeiture victims or forfeiture lawyers;

(3) victim stories written up by the victim or his attorney or acquaintance (be sure to check the accuracy of details and give a contact phone number in case a reporter wants more information);

(4) information about new or pending forfeiture legislation in your state;

(5) information about police scandals involving forfeiture issues;

(6) bulletins from lawyers about forfeiture cases or new issues, or requests for information;

(7) requests for information by reporters, law students or others doing research on forfeiture issues.

Check out our Archive of past FEAR-List bulletins to get a better idea of the type of bulletins we prefer.

To send a message out over FEAR-List, just e-mail it to:

fear-list@mapinc.org

If you have any problems, please contact the list administrator at:

Thanks again for joining and we hope to hear from you if any forfeiture news surfaces in your area.
